Distributing the Blame: Is it my SEO apps or is it Google?
I confess. Prior to learning about SEO programs and site optimization trade, I thought Google was incredible. I Used Google to look for anything from friends, to images, to news to obscure things and indiscriminately trusted the search outcomes. Then I found out about SEO software and a separate field focused on promoting sites, and things changed. But even before my revelation, having done some reflective analysis, I got an inkling that search engines, Google included, know far from everything, and pass on to the users a tiny portion of what they know.
My search travails soon convinced me that Flikr is a higher quality image data bank, that with the assistance of feeds I can access nice news coverage without the need to rummage through Google SERPs (rummaging seems more descriptive than Google search), and people search is best administered by Facebook. It seems like every time I search for odd things on Google, the results are often messy, to put it kindly. Try Googling for SEO software and other SEO related subjects on Google and you are almost prepared to lose your self-control. I mean, seriously, what’s the relationship between SEO software and online education websites or Web casinos? It happens in my disappointment.
So when news of seo software review and the entire field built around it entered my humble worldview, my doubts about websites landing on P1 of Google grew manifold. Do they deserve to be there and who is to blame, Google or site promoters using SEO products. The ethical dilemma is huge. Do I stop using my SEO keyword ranking tool or do I quit using Google instead? I concluded that I can’t quit Google just yet. At least not until the worthy rival enters the picture. For now I will keep juggling between Blekko, Google and the above methods to complement the SERP mess that Google is. And, oh,yes, I will keep using my SEO applications.
Frankly, SEO tools is the reason why people like myself get discovered on the Internet. smart as they are, search engine web bots are not likely to find some no-name guy and rank his site well. In this respect, I am an unyielding believer in SEO programs and organic search. If it was all about the money, the corporate businesses would demolish me before I knew it. And there are hundreds of companies on the Fortune roll! But here is something else that irks me and other backlink check users, I am certain. There are individuals who buy SEO programs and use them to sell shoeson casino sites and the like. What we have is litter that not only pervades the Internet but is also highly ranked by Google.
What is the user reaction to this? They search for SEO application reviews and will instead find irrelevant content. They get disillusioned. So much for the “Internet equality”. Does this imply that SEO program and service industry is bad? Probably not.
The unethical users of SEO tools have to stop brutalizing the Net but it’s like asking hackers to stop cracking the code. The sad side about it is that black hat SEOs are overusing the opportunity to be visible on the Internet that is available to the average person like me. For now we just have to tolerate them. We can only hope that Google will put more effort into finding the schemers abusing SEO applications, and if Google doesn’t, the competitor Google will.
